High Power Free Floating Phase Control Thyristor KP series

The application of free-floating silicon technology in manufacturing high-power, high-current thyristors meets stringent requirements for high-standard applications. LJ-MD achieved a milestone in 2019 by successfully developing a 5200V thyristor with a 5” chip. This innovation was supplied to customers involved in the China HVDC project, showcasing LJ-MD’s commitment to cutting-edge technology and meeting industry demands.

In line with the advancement in converter equipment, notably in HVDC transmission, the demand for increased output power capacity per unit thyristor has risen. This enhancement aims to minimize the quantity of thyristors needed in both series and parallel connection circuits. Such an advancement not only reduces device size and weight but also lowers investment costs. Moreover, it facilitates the achievement of uniform current and voltage distribution, fostering enhanced reliability and commercial value.

Test values for IGT, VGT, and IH are provided at 25℃ unless otherwise specified. All other parameters listed correspond to test values conducted at Tjm.

The calculation for I²t is defined as I²t = I²F × SM × tw / 2, where tw represents the sinusoidal half wave current base width. At a frequency of 50Hz, I²t equals 0.005 times I²FSM in units of A²S.

For a frequency of 60Hz, the following adjustments apply: IFSM (8.3ms) = IFSM (10ms) × 1.066 when Tj remains constant; I²t (8.3ms) = I²t (10ms) × 0.943 with Tj at Tjm
