Russian Power Thyristor Disc T153 Series

T153 thyristors are versatile pill-type devices designed for the regulation and conversion of both DC and AC currents, accommodating loads of up to 3020A with a frequency of 500Hz. They are suitable for circuits operating within a voltage range of 200V to 2800V. The T153 series encompasses various nominal types, including T153-630, T153-800, T153-1000, T153-1600, T153-2000, and T153-2500, each identified by specific model numbers.

The polarity of these thyristors is determined by symbols on their housing, and they are available in two housing types: PT51 and PT53. The designation “PT” signifies “pill thyristor.” Depending on the model, the thyristors exhibit different contact surface diameters, overall dimensions, and weights. For instance, the T153-630, T153-800, and T153-1000 models, categorized as PT53 types, have a contact surface diameter of Ø51 mm, overall dimensions of Ø75×26 mm, and a weight not exceeding 0.550 kg. On the other hand, the T153-1600, T153-2000, and T153-2500 models, classified as PT51 types, feature a contact surface diameter of Ø51 mm, overall dimensions of Ø75×14 mm, and a weight of 0.330 kg.

During assembly, the thyristors are connected to coolers through threaded connections. Achieving optimal electrical performance and heat dissipation necessitates applying the required tightening torque, known as the clamping force (Fm), set at 24±2 kN. The compliance of the achieved clamping force with the specified value is assessed through the deflection of the traverse.

For enhanced heat dissipation, heat-conductive paste KPT-8 can be utilized during assembly, although it is not a mandatory condition for mounting. Thyristors can be manufactured to operate in various climates, including moderate, cold (HL), and tropical (T) environments.
